As is the case with nearly all internet-based systems, if there is no activity between your PC and the server (meaning you don’t submit or receive a page), you “time out” and the server thinks you are gone. For security reasons and server performance reasons, you are logged out automatically. This happens after about 20 minutes. So, if you were typing but not exchanging pages with the server, you were automatically logged out. This is a part of how the architecture of nearly all internet-based systems work.
