DON'T SELL TO YOUR VISITORS  - SERVE THEM!

If you create a web site that only tries to sell, you will probably fail.  After all, when you yourself are looking for good or services, do you want 100% sales pitch?

Instead of going heavy on the sales pitch, create a web site that serves your visitors.  Here's how to do that:

1 - Listen
Your customer, and potential customer, want you to listen to them.  And it's good for your business too.  When you listen, whether it be by e-mail, phone, or survey, you pick up valuable information on how you can serve your customer.

2 - Build a relationship
Most sales take place after you have built a relationship.  Relationships take time and interaction.  You invest in that relationship when you provide useful information on your web site and send useful follow up information.  You can interact with your visitor by providing follow-up information, and responding to their e-mails and phone calls.

3 - Serve
Most of your potential customers have needs and may believe that you can help provide a solution.  After you have listened and built a relationship, you can respond with how you can serve them via your offerings.  Serve one another in love.  Galatians 5:13b

Create a web site that serves and you will get more customers - and happier customers.
