*** Making your site accessible ***
Did you know that at least 10% of the population has some type of disability – whether it be seeing, hearing, speaking, or something else? This is a huge part of your audience! Consider how you can make sure your site accessible for these folks. It’s good business! And it is just the right thing to do.
Here are some tips:
1 – Provide sufficient contrast
We’ve talked about this one before, and it is a great idea for lots of reasons. Make sure that your text really stands out from the background of your web pages.
2 – Make sure hyperlinks describe their purpose
Though important for many reasons, it is especially important for the visually impaired, those who may be “listening” to the computer as it reads the page to them. It’s better for you link to say “Read about our fourth quarter results” instead of “Click here”.
3 – Make your navigation consistent
If you use Web Builder Express, you are already ahead of the game on this one, since your site will have a consistent navigational menu and breadcrumb trail on every page. If you are using some other design system (and why would you do that when you can use Web Builder Express??), make sure your navigation is consistent on every page. ________________________________________________________
*** Things You Might Like ***
Our $50 Amazon gift certificate recipient has received his prize. He responded back...
"I really do like the web builder product you guys offer. It is so friendly that even a bozo like me can maintain a professional page." Todd H. to79@neo.rr.com

*** News Wrap Up ***
Our weekends lately have been jammed packed with gatherings with friends. Recently we picnicked with close friends who were in town, one family currently living in Turkey and the other in southern Ohio. Though the day was preempted due to a sudden rainshower, the kids and adults were able to go for a Lake Erie swim and munch on some good ol' picnic food - hot dogs, watermelon, chips, and pop - before we had to pack up. Overall our summer has been pretty dry here and we have had to get the sprinkler going in our yard once or twice. ________________________________________________________
