Many folks seem to borrow text, images, and even entire site designs from other web pages.  They take information from it's original owner, and reproduce it on another web site.

This practice can even seem innocent.  After all, the original information is still there.

But it is not innocent.  It is theft, and it is illegal.

Copyright violations are legal issues.  The people whose information is stolen can bring a civil case (for money) if the violator profits from the stolen work.

So, while it can seem simple and even innocent to "borrow" a picture from another web site, or "reuse" someone else's text, don't do it.

Copying may be a form of flattery, but it is illegal, and can get you into trouble.
